Update 11/09

First, I want to apologize for not tending to my blog. I have been really busy out there living life! So much has happened and there is not enough cyberspace to explain it all.

So, on to the update!

We are moving to Virginia! KC finished all of his training in Charleston and is set to graduate Dec 4th! He received his orders to the USS ENTERPRISE (CVN-65). He was stationed there on his first tour after Nuke school the first time, so it kinda feels like dejavu! Our move date is set for Sat Dec 5th. As of now, we still don't have a house to move into! It took so long for KC to get orders that we really didn't have much time to plan. Oh well, such is life in the military!

Aidan is doing well in Pre-K at St. Timothy's Children Center. We had our first parent-teacher conference about a month ago. The teacher said that Aidan was a very smart boy, more math-minded than language arts, and that he tended to be lazy on his coloring but probably because he gets bored with it easily. He can recognize all his letters except lowercase "l" and "g". So, all in all, he is doing well and she predicts that he will be reading by the summer! Wow! I was impressed!

As for the pets. We got a new addition....Madison is our little "refugee." She came to stay with us this summer when my nephew and niece came to visit and she never left! Madison is a Boston Terrier-Beagle mix, about 8 or so yrs old and loves kids!! We were planning on finding her a home but her and Aidan get along so well we decided just to keep her!

Trixie, our other beagle, we found out, has cancer of the bladder. She had been urinating blood off and on for a while. At first, we thought it was a UTI, and treated her with antibiotics. But, it came back so we went to see a specialist in Mt. Pleasant. There, they did an ultrasound and found the tumor! The specialist seems to think that the tumor could be removed and if it hasn't metastasized yet we could give her a few more comfortable months! Of course, this would have to happen right before we move!! So, for now, Trixie is on piroxicam, an NSAID, that has been shown to reduce the tumor size. She seems to be tolerating this treatment well, so hopefully, she will make it thru the move!

Oh and I totally forgot to mention that we are temporarily living in an apartment!!?!! We found out at the end of Aug that our lease would not be renewed because the owner of the house has ovarian cancer and wants to move back in so that her grown children can move back with her. The lease was originally set to expire in Nov but that wouldn't give us time to find a place for the duration of our stay here in Charleston. So, they let us out of the lease early and Sept 25th we moved into this apartment. Move out happened so quickly that we were there at the house cleaning up the place until 4 am the day they were to move back in! It was crazy!!

And now its move time again!!! We will be heading up to VA to find a place and then back to FL to visit around Christmas time!

I hope that all out there had a great Thanksgiving holiday! Wishing for a peaceful Christmas!!!
